Alpha

Prototype and test solutions to the problems uncovered during the discovery phase. During a series of collaborative two-week sprints, our multidisciplinary team will design and test prototypes exploring different directions for the service.

Through a combination of workshops, sketching, prototyping and user research we will help you generate, validate, adapt or discard new ideas. By the end of alpha, you will be in a position to decide which ideas to pursue through beta.

Activities

  • Design workshops: What are the hypotheses we want to test through the alpha?
  • Sketched concepts: Going wide and sketching disposable concepts around ways someone might use the service
  • Prototyping the riskiest assumptions: Producing rough and ready clickable prototypes to explore possible direction
  • Solving a whole problem for users: Understanding and exploring how this component fits into the wider user journey
  • User research: Testing sketches and prototypes with representative users to define direction
  • Exploring technologies: Collaborating with a development team to explore integrations, opportunities and constraints

Outcomes

  • Tested prototypes
  • Priorities to focus on for beta
  • Evidence for service assessments

"Healthia provided an exemplary discovery and alpha project to NCSC. By having seasoned and independent researchers and designers assist us, we were able to canvas the community comprehensively in order to construct a long term development plan for the service. Healthia are highly professional, reliable and rigorous in their methods."
