Discovery

If you need to launch or improve a service or pathway, this package of work will uncover exactly what users need and help you determine the best way forward.

Our discovery package is based around the Government and NHS Digital Service Standard. It uncovers user needs, technology or legislative constraints and identifies gaps and opportunities to improve.

Activities

  • Qualitative user research: Field or lab-based qualitative research with the option of using film to share insight
  • Service and pathway mapping: Mapping out the as-is experience identifying pain points, gaps and opportunities
  • Quantitative research: Surveys and use of data analysis to uncover insight into user behaviour
  • Co-creation: Facilitating collaboration between stakeholders and end-users to uncover needs
  • Stakeholder engagement: Uncovering insight from internal stakeholders to understand their needs for the service
  • Service concepts: High level visualisation around ways the service could work based on research insight

Outputs

  • Prioritised user needs
  • Understanding of legislative and policy constraints
  • Understanding of the technical landscape
  • Areas to focus on for Alpha

"Healthia provided an exemplary discovery and alpha project to NCSC. By having seasoned and independent researchers and designers assist us, we were able to canvas the community comprehensively in order to construct a long term development plan for the service. Healthia are highly professional, reliable and rigorous in their methods."

Programme manager - NCSC

"Working with the superb team at Healthia has been an absolute joy. They delivered a superb alpha phase of our elective care educational project that has helped us devise strategies around the long-term future of educational video content in the NHS.

The team is flexible, reliable and diligent and we appreciated the openness of their approach."
